You can make an account if you are at least 16 and you give us true details. One person, one account. If we find extra accounts made to push a review or dodge a ban, we will close them.

By making an account, you agree to these terms and to our privacy page.

Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account counts as done by you, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.

Pick a display name that is not rude and does not pretend to be someone else.

Everything you write or upload stays yours. By posting it, you give us permission to show it on the site, in search results, and in emails to members, and to keep a copy so threads still make sense after you leave. You can delete a post at any time.

Only post things you have the right to share. Do not upload other people’s photos or copy text from other sites.

Reviews must come from your own experience. If you are writing about a shop you own, work for, or were paid by, say so in the post.

A few plain rules keep this place useful. Do not:

• Write fake reviews, or pay or trade for them.
• Post lies about a person or a business.
• Bully, threaten, or harass anyone.
• Post someone’s home address, phone number, or other private details.
• Run scams, sell anything illegal, or post links to malware.
• Spam. That includes posting the same thing in many places or filling threads with adverts.
• Pretend to be someone you are not.
• Copy content from the site in bulk with scripts or bots.
• Try to get into parts of the site you are not meant to reach.

If you see someone doing any of this, use the report button. A person will look at it.

Owners and staff are welcome here. You can claim your listing, fix the details, and reply to reviews in public.

You cannot pay to move your business up the list, and you cannot pay to have a review removed. We take down reviews only if they break the rules above, and we treat every business the same way.

To keep the site working and fair, we can:

• Remove or hide posts that break these rules.
• Warn, suspend, or close accounts.
• Change, pause, or stop features of the site.
• Keep a copy of removed content if we need it for a legal reason.

If we close your account, we will tell you why unless the law stops us. You can write to us if you think we got it wrong.

Everything on isthislegit.chat comes from other members. We do not check each post, and we cannot promise it is right. A shop that was great last month might have changed hands. A plumber one person loved might let you down.

Use what you read here as one input, not the final word. We are not responsible for what happens when you follow someone’s advice, buy from a shop you found here, or meet up with another member.

The name isthislegit.chat, the asterisk logo, and the look of the site belong to us. You can share links and screenshots freely. Please do not use our name or logo in a way that suggests we back a product or a business.

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. See the privacy page for what happens to your posts afterwards.

The site is free and we give it to you as it is. We work hard to keep it up and correct, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for money you lose, time you waste, or harm you suffer because of something on the site or something another member did. Where the law does not let us limit our liability, this section does not apply.

We may update these terms as the site grows. When we do, we will change the date at the top. For anything that affects your rights, we will email you or show a notice before it takes effect. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the new terms.

These terms follow the laws of the country where isthislegit.chat is registered. If we ever have a dispute we cannot settle by talking, it will be handled in the courts there.
