Rules

This whole site rests on people telling the truth. If you say the bakery was rubbish, it should be because you ate there and it was rubbish. Made-up stories, exaggerated ones, and reviews written for a friend all get removed.

If you are not sure about something, say so. "I think they close at six" is more useful than a confident guess.

Review a place if you have been there. Review an online store if you ordered from it. Answer a question if you actually know the answer.

If you own the place, work there, or were given something to write about it, say that at the top of your post. Undeclared reviews from owners and staff are removed, and the account may be closed.

You can be blunt about a bad meal or a plumber who never showed up. You cannot be cruel about a person. No insults, no threats, no jokes about who someone is.

Disagree with the review, not the reviewer. If a thread turns into a fight, we will lock it.

Do not post anyone’s home address, phone number, car plate, photos of their face without asking, or anything else they would not want public. This includes shop owners and staff. Name the business, not the person behind the till.

Do not share screenshots of private messages.

This is not a marketplace. Do not post adverts, referral links, or the same message in ten threads. Do not message members to sell them things.

Mentioning your own business is fine when someone asks for it and you say it is yours.

No fake listings, no phishing links, no "send me a deposit first". Anyone caught running a scam is banned for good and, where it makes sense, reported to the police.

Claim your listing and reply to reviews in public. Be polite even when the review stings. Do not ask customers for good reviews in exchange for discounts, and do not ask us to delete a review just because you do not like it.

You can report a review that breaks these rules, and we will look at it the same way we look at any other report.

Every post and every profile has a report button. Use it when you see something that breaks these rules. Tell us what is wrong in a sentence. You do not need to argue in the thread first.

False reports waste time we could spend on real ones. If someone keeps reporting things that are fine, we will stop taking their reports.

It depends on what you did and whether it was the first time.

• A small slip: we remove the post and let you know why.
• A repeat: we pause your account for a while.
• Fake reviews, scams, harassment, or leaking private details: the account is closed.

We try to be fair, not fast. If you think we got it wrong, write to us through the contact page and a person will take another look.
